The first thing I hear people say when they try this jacket on is, "This is what I've been trying to find!" Or, you know, something to that effect. Regardless of the vernacular, the point is that those people have all had the same experience: they've wanted a leather jacket à la Saint Laurent or Acne Studios and have never been able to find one in their size. Same here! Instead, I've spent years wearing fast-fashion, fake-leather knock offs that look cheap and crack after a cold spell. I wanted something made more consciously of the highest-quality—so I made it. And I can't tell you how powerful this thing makes me feel.
Our Hudson Jacket is made from heavyweight leather that has been minimally treated to avoid unnecessary chemical processes. Like any genuine leather product, it will soften over time, mold to the shape of your body, and needs to be kept away from anything that can leave a mark. If you make this beauty yours, it can be part of your wardrobe forever...which means you'll wear it again and again. I'd start with mom jeans and a sheer tee, then go for a floral dress. This garment is made in New York City of 100% cowhide leather from a tannery in Germany that uses the wet-green dyeing process and has received certification from Blue Angel, which sets standards for environmentally friendly product design and more sustainable consumption. This garment is sensitive—avoid all lotion, perfume, makeup, oil, aerosols, et cetera and check the care tag for further care instructions.
